The all-new Nissan LEAF has further strengthened its foothold in the all-electric segment across Europe, with pre-orders crossing 10,000 units in just about two months. Due to its popularity and demand, Nissan UK has launched an online reservation system which claims to have simplified the ordering process for the New LEAF, which is approximately two minutes. The customer will then be contacted by their preferred dealer as scheduled.
The new model gets fresh styling upgrades, advance technology like the ProPILOT and a higher capacity 40kWh battery. Some unique tech in the new LEAF includes the new e-Pedal that allows drivers to start, accelerate, decelerate and stop the car by simply increasing or decreasing the pressure applied to the accelerator. Additionally, Nissan claims that as compared to the previous 30kWh version, the new LEAF offers a 50 per cent increase in range to 235miles (NEDC) (approx. 378kms) and a 38 per cent increase in power to 146bhp.
In terms of features, the new LEAF comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, front and rear heated black suede-effect bio-fabric seats, automatic AC, NissanConnect EV seven-inch touchscreen infotainment with six speaker sound system and Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection and Intelligent Driver alertness. Nissan will announce full range pricing for the next generation of the world’s best-selling electric vehicle in early January 2018, deliveries for which will commence in the beginning of February 2018.
