Renault recently introduced the Easy-R AMT gearbox in the new Duster’s RxL and RxZ variants. The Nissan Terrano built on a similar platform will also soon be offered with the similar Easy-R AMT transmission system. Along with boosting sales, the new upgrade will help Nissan stay abreast with competition.
The Nissan Terrano is available in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine which generates 104bhp of power and 145Nm of torque, while its diesel variant is powered by a 1.5-litre engine in two tunes – 85bhp and 110bhp. As seen in the new Duster, the Terrano is also expected to get the AMT transmission upgrade on its 110bhp variant. This could also mean using the safer CMO10 engine compartment and T4 electrical and electronics architecture.
The new Terrano variant from Nissan is not expected to get fresh design upgrades for its exterior, however the interior might get minor upgrades in the form of revised upholstery. Speaking about features, the new Terrano might get touchscreen music system with navigation and automatic climate control. It is likely the automaker will introduce the new Terrano variant sometime during the festive season this year. To enhance sales of the current lot, the company is offering benefits of up to Rs 80,000 along with a special interest rate of about 7.99 per cent.
