Nissan Thailand has updated its official website with information on the facelifted March or better known to us as the Micra hatchback. The facelifted Micra was first spotted sans camouflage in Thailand during a shoot for its new TV commercial about two weeks ago. It has got cosmetic changes both inside and outside but has retained the same overall design.
On the outside, the facelifted Micra gets new headlamps, a revised honeycomb front grille which now a V-shaped trough surrounding the Nissan logo. The bumper has also been revised and features a new design for the fog lamps as well as the air dam. At the back, the Japanese automaker has redesigned the bumper as well as the tail light cluster which now features LEDs. The Micra also gets a new design for the alloy wheels.
Inside, Nissan has retained the same overall design but has fitted new panels with darker colours as well as revised the design of the central AC vents and the music system. Some reports suggest Nissan has also revised some of the graphics for the information display system.
The underpinnings and engine line up is expected to remain exactly the same as the current Micra. This means the 1.2-litre petrol engine producing between 56 and 76bhp and 104Nm of torque and the 1.5-litre diesel mill producing 64bhp and 160Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the wheels via five-speed manual gearbox. However, the car that has been featured on the official website is the AT variant with Nissans very own X-Tronic CVT gearbox that made its Indian debut with Scala Automatic. Nissan has confirmed that the Micra automatic will make its Indian debut in the next financial year.
The Micra is one of the Japanese automakers major selling models and the fact that it is manufactured here for many markets means that we are sure to get the facelifted version within the next few months at a slightly revised price.
