As Nissan fans wait to see the all new Micra at the 2016 Paris motor, the Japanese automaker has released the teaser images to further fuel curiosity. Based on what can be seen, the new Nissan Micra will share its looks with the Sway concept which was showcased earlier this year. The new model will be produced at Renault’s Flins facility, near Paris and will be available in the international markets sometime by early next year.
The new Nissan Micra is reportedly based on Renault-Nissan’s CMF B platform, thereby it making it slightly longer and wider than the previous generation. Moreover, this time around the vehicle will also be offered in petrol and diesel engine options mated to manual or automatic transmission options. Along with a new design featuring LED headlamps with DRLs and integrated spoiler at the back, the new model will also be available in interesting colour options. Inside, owing to revised dimensions, the vehicle will offer more cabin and boot space than the older version.
The Indian market will not receive the one that will be unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. However, Nissan will be introducing a different new generation Micra in AMEI (Asia, Middle East and India) region that will offer more features and safety than the outgoing version. The new model will cost higher than the current range and will compete in the premium hatchback segment along with the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
