Nissan has introduced an aggressive marketing strategy for their version of the compact SUV based on the Renault Duster. The Terrano’s exclusive website had earlier revealed a rendered front view of the SUV along with an ‘Unlock Terrano’ contest. Now the website has released a teaser image of rear end of the car unveiling more details.
The rear design follows a similar line of design as compared to the fascia of the mini SUV. Nissan has opted for sharper lines to define the car’s various elements. While the rear of the Duster feels slightly out of sync with the rest of the car’s design, the Terrano looks homogeneous at least from the details currently available. The rear windshield looks like a replica of the Duster, but the Terrano gets sharp tail lamps that extend into the boot lid. The rear bumper is also freshly sculpted and the wheel arches blend in better to avoid the ‘wide hip’ look of its sibling.
Nissan has not officially stated a launch date for the mini SUV though we expect the car to roll out in early October. During the launch of the Micra facelift, Nissan’s vice president of business management stated that Nissan aims to capture a market share 4.7 per cent by adding value to their existing portfolio. But with the recent launch of the Ford EcoSport, Nissan will definitely have to reconsider the overall pricing strategy to attain the ambitious figure.
