Nissan India is planning to launch a small car by March next year. This vehicle is expected to be an entry-level low-cost car for the Indian market.
Nissan's managing director Arun Malhotra didn't divulge any details but confirmed that the new car will be out by March 2016. The new car will then be the third car from Nissan's stable based on the platform of Datsun-Nissan's low-cost brand. The car was originally planned to be launched in 2017, but looking at the demand of entry-level cars, the manufacturer will bring the car in a bit early.
The Japanese automaker has an aggressive plan for the Indian market. They launched the Datsun brand in our country, marking the comeback of the brand in India after three decades. Apart from the new car product launches, the company plans to expand their dealer network and increase their market share from two to five per cent.
