Everybody knows that Nissan is expected to launch a redesigned Leaf towards the end of 2017. However, reports now state that Daniele Schillaci, head of sales, marketing and the electric car division at Nissan has revealed that their next EV is likely to be a crossover.
Schillaci told reporters that Nissan is clearly focusing their attention on an electric crossover as it is a part of their DNA, and this vehicle will embody the latest Nissan Intelligent Mobility features. These features comprise of connectivity, electrification and self-driving capability. Nissan is already known to be developing a concept, which in all probability, is an electric car that’s codenamed Vmotion 3.0. It is believed that this concept may be showcased at a Motor Show later this year.
It’s obvious that Nissan is eager to capitalise on both the electric vehicle requirement and the booming crossover demand in the time to come. They are positive that if they make an EV in this practical body-style before other players in the market, they stand a fair chance of selling good volumes. We shall give you more news on Nissan’s plan in the months to come, so stay tuned.
