Nissan India has inaugurated a new dealership in Shillong, Meghalaya. Orange Nissan is the first outlet in that state and will cater to both Nissan and Datsun brands.
The new showroom is located at Lumsohphoh and the workshop is located at Shillong, Jowai Road. The outlet spreads over an area of 3,240 sq.ft., which is good enough to display five cars at a time. With the inauguration of this new facility, Nissan has expanded their dealer network to 14 outlets in the North Eastern region.
Arun Malhotra, managing director, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. said, “The automobile market in the North East region of India has increased exponentially over the last few years. Nissan will be expanding aggressively in the northeast to reach customers there and gain a healthy share of this huge potential market. We are also gearing up to launch our new Datsun Redigo, which will compete in the entry-level car segment in India. There is significant demand in the northeast for cars in this segment. To tap that desire for our cars, we will grow our dealership base, offer best-in-class products, build strong business fundamentals, and get closer to our customers in the region. Nissan is continuing to expand its dealership footprint and remains on course to meet our target of establishing 300 dealerships across the country by the end of March 2017.'
Nissan believes that establishing an extensive, quality-focused retail network is central to their long-term growth in India. With this in mind, they have successfully inaugurated 12 dealerships all over the country in the last six months. It is good to see that the carmaker is extending their dealer sales and service network to different regions in the country. It will play a vital role as the carmaker is expanding its line-up with the launch of new models like the Redigo and X-Trail hybrid.
