The Nissan Nismo GT-R has been revealed ahead of its official unveiling on November 19. A high performance version of what is considered a technical masterpiece in Japanese automotive engineering; the Nismo GT-R was announced in February and since then has been widely awaited by the motoring press.
The Nissan Nismo GT-R makes use of the same 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine but has now been tuned to produce 595bhp and 650Nm of torque as compared to the ‘standard’ cars 545bhp and 627Nm of torque. This massive increase in power is courtesy of a revised intake and exhaust system, swapping the standard turbochargers for the larger ones from the GT3 race car and finally modifying ignition timings. What is surprising is that Nissan has said that the engine was capable of producing more power, but they did not want to do so as it would damage the gearbox.
The Nissan GT-R was a sleeper in terms of looks even with the extra body parts. However, this one now gets an optional track package which comprises carbon fibre body parts, front splitter and a massive rear spoiler to hold the car down as it flies around corners. The package also includes tweaks to the chassis, shocks and springs all in a bid to increase the handling ability of the car.
Prices are expected to start at 124,000 GBP (Rs 1.24 crore) if the track package is added on to the car. Oh and did we mention that the Nismo GT-R has lapped the Green hell a.k.a Nurburgring in just 7:08 minutes (beating the standard car by over 20 seconds) making it the fourth fastest vehicle in the Nurburgring's fastest cars list.
