Ahead of its official debut at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2018, the upcoming Navara-based SUV has been spotted in the production form. Media reports have indicated that the upcoming model might be known as the Nissan Paladin. Post launch, the Nissan SUV will compete against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Ford Endeavour.
At this point in time, Nissan has not spoken in detail about the upcoming vehicle. It is believed that the Navara-based SUV might be available in seven-seat and five-seat options. The vehicle will get a traditional Nissan face with large bumpers, wide air dam and long sleek headlamps. As for the rear, the SUV gets petal shape taillamps and a thick chrome strip on the tailgate.
Although engine details remain unannounced for now, we believe it might continue to be powered by the existing engine as seen in the Navara pick-up. At the time of launch, the SUV might be offered in manual and automatic transmission options. More details about the vehicle will be known in the days to come. The vehicle is unlikely to be introduced anytime soon and will first be launched in China in 2018.
