Nissan made a bold move when it introduced the first-generation Murano back in the year 2003. Being one of the very first crossovers in the market during the time, the Murano was mainly known for its eccentric looks and a decent load of features. The second-generation model introduced in 2009 maintained a similar approach even as Nissan added new models like the Juke and the Rogue to its crossover range.
In 2014, Nissan introduced the third-generation Murano and now, the brand has revealed the hybrid version of the same at the ongoing Auto Shanghai 2015. Nissan says this hybrid version of its flagship crossover offering will strengthen the brand’s efforts to bring more sustainable mobility options to China.
The Murano Hybrid combines a supercharged 2.5-litre petrol engine and an electric motor paired with a compact lithium-ion battery to provide a combined output of 250bhp of power and 329Nm of torque.
Nissan has revealed that the Murano Hybrid will be on sale this summer in China. Besides this, the other showstoppers at the Japanese automaker’s stand included two Nismo products – the GT-R Nismo and the 370Z Nismo.
