Nissan is taking the Indian car market seriously. The company recently launched its budget brand, Datsun. Now, there are rumours that the Japanese carmaker might bring its luxury brand Infiniti here.
In an exclusive interview to a publication, Andy Palmer, chief planning officer, Nissan Motor Company, suggested that it is ‘inevitable’ that the Infiniti brand would come to India.
Infiniti Motor Company, is headquartered in Hong Kong, and has operations in around 50 countries. Infiniti branded vehicles are currently built in Japan and the United States. Production in China and Europe is slated to start soon along with the expansion of the brand's portfolio.
A few days ago, we reported about Nissan planning to bring its iconic sportscar the GT-R to India. This news again adds to the fact that the company is on a brand building spree and the introduction of Infiniti will add more credibility to them. However, Nissan will have to work a little to promote the Infiniti brand here as not many are aware of it.
