We had recently brought to you details of the Nissan Micra Nismo which was launched in Japan a few weeks back. Now it looks like the Japanese manufacturer is gauging the market for a possible introduction of its performance division, Nismo in India to strengthen the Micra brand.
The international spec Micra Nismo has a 1.2-litre petrol engine mated to the Xtronic CVT gearbox that produces 80PS power and 106Nm of torque; exactly like the Micra XV CVT available in India. But the more enthusiastic Nismo S will be powered by a specially tuned 1.5-litre mill mated to a quick shift five-speed manual powertrain. The engine produces 115.6PS and 156Nm of torque thanks to its pressurised intake. The Nismo S will also benefit from a bespoke exhaust system, a stiffer and customised suspension arrangement, a rear anti-roll bar and a more precise brake system.
The Indian bound Nismo will most likely give away these performance focused additions, along with the Recaro bucket seats and the Alcantara inserts as an effort to reduce costs. But the car will most likely have the cosmetic add-ons like new bumpers, front grille, side sill protectors, red exterior mirrors and LED daytime running lights. Nissan will also offer the Nismo in three exterior colours: Pure Black, Brilliant Silver and Brilliant White Pearl.
