- Is the first major update since the car was launched in 2020
- Will be followed by two C-SUVs in 2025
The much anticipated Nissan Magnite facelift will be launched in India on 4 October. It's the most major update for the Magnite since its launch in 2020 and we will see it get a revised design and some new bits for the cabin.
Spy shots of the car indicate a new face and rear design as well as new alloy wheels for the top-spec models. Inside, we expect changes to the upholstery as well as the addition of ambient lighting, which the Kiger has but the Magnite doesn't at present. The top-spec versions are already pretty loaded with features like a digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, wireless charger, power mirrors, and wireless phone mirroring.
The Magnite is expected to continue with its 1.0-litre NA petrol that produces 71bhp/91Nm and can be had with either a five-speed MT or a five-speed AMT. There is also the more powerful 1.0-litre turbo-petrol that produces 99bhp/152Nm in CVT guise and 160Nm in MT guise.
The updates that we will see in the new Magnite are expected to also make their way into the Kiger at some point in 2025. Nissan has begun its India refresh, first with the launch of the X-Trail SUV and now this Magnite facelift next month. However, its piece de resistance (S) will be two new C-SUVs with five-seat and seven-seat configurations. These will be based on the India-spec Renault Duster and the production-ready version of the Dacia Bigster concept that will be showcased in Paris next month. These two new SUVs will be Nissan and Renault’s fight against cars like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and the Tata Curvv.
