- First major update for compact SUV
- Two powertrain and three gearbox options
Ahead of its official launch, images of the updated Nissan Magnite facelift 2024 have been leaked. The images reveal a new fascia complete with a new grille and headlamps. Also visible are large chrome inserts on the edges of the face confirming that the car we saw in a BNCAP crash test image for the Punch EV was the Magnite facelift. The overall design of the tail lamps remains unchanged but the individual elements within have been redesigned and give the car a fresh look.
The cabin of the 2024 Magnite was revealed by Nissan and the real-world images confirm elements like the new seat upholstery, updated steering wheel and dual-tone colour scheme. One of the big USPs of the car is expected to be an air filter system and we expect that it will be offered as standard fitment across the range. Other major features include a 360-degree camera, connected car technology, height adjustment for the driver’s seat, digital instrument cluster, climate control with rear AC vents, power mirrors and windows and finally wireless phone mirroring.
The Magnite is expected to continue with its two 1.0-litre engines. The lower-spec one is a 1.0-litre NA petrol that produces 71bhp and 96Nm and can be had with either a five-speed MT or a five-speed AMT. The more powerful option is a 1.0-litre turbo petrol with 99bhp/160Nm and this engine is available with either a six-speed MT or a CVT.
The 2024 update for the Magnite comes nearly four years after the car was first launched and is their competitor for the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Maruti Fronx, Toyota Taisor and Renault Kiger.
