-Second generation Leaf
-CBU
The Nissan Leaf has been spotted on test in India ahead of its official debut later this year. The Japanese automaker had announced during the launch of the Kicks that it would be bringing the second generation of its highly successful EV to the country.
This version of the Kicks that has been spotted appears to be a lower spec model thanks to the steel wheels and non-projector headlamps. It is likely that this car was on its way back from the ARAI test facilities located on the outskirts of Pune.
The Leaf will be brought to India via the CBU route and we are expected to get a fully loaded model with most of the new driver-assisted technologies that Nissan has fitted in the Leaf. In terms of design, it mimics the latest generation Nissan Micra that is currently on sale in European markets.
The CBU nature of the India-spec Leaf means that it will be priced significantly higher than normal and is expected to be in the bracket of Rs 30 - 35 lakh.
