Nissan has announced the launch of its new Pulsar hatchback – a model that will take the Japanese carmaker back into the heart of the C-segment in the UK. With on-road prices starting at £15,995 (Rs 16.39 lakh) for the entry-level model, going all the way till £20,345 (Rs 20.84 lakh) for the top-end model, the new Pulsar will go on sale starting September this year.
Nissan says this new model is packed with advanced technology and offers class-leading levels of cabin space. In the UK, the new Pulsar will be available in four trim levels – Visia, Acenta, n-tec and Tekna. While the entry-level Visia trim gets a 5-inch colour screen, steering wheel mounted audio controls, Bluetooth connectivity and air conditioning as standard, the top-spec Tekna trim is quite feature-rich with standard features including keyless entry, automatic headlights and wipers, 17-inch alloys and LED lights, reversing camera and much more.
Buyers of the new Pulsar will have a choice of two engine options to choose from - a 115bhp turbocharged 1.2-litre petrol unit and a 110bhp 1.5-litre diesel engine. Nissan will offer either manual or Xtronic automatic gearbox options for this hatchback. Interestingly, Nissan will bring an even more powerful version of the Pulsar powerful by a 190bhp, 240Nm 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The car, however, will join the range early next year.
The new Nissan Pulsar will hit the showrooms by September this year. With its arrival, Nissan strengthen its product portfolio in the C-segment. The brand currently has the Qashqai crossover which is doing really well in the UK.
