-Premium SUV to rival the Hyundai Creta and Renault Captur
-Diesel and petrol power
Nissan will launch the Kicks SUV for the Indian car market on January 22. It’s a new premium SUV from the Japanese automaker and will be offered in both petrol and diesel power. We’ve already driven the car and bookings for the SUV have been open since the middle of December.
The Kicks is underpinned by the same platform as the Renault Duster/Captur and makes use of the same engine options. The petrol and diesel units are 1.5-litre units with the former producing 104bhp/142Nm and mated to a five-speed manual while the latter is good for 109bhp/240Nm and gets a six-speed manual.
Nissan is going heavy with the features game and will offer many of the segment standard features like touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, climate control, LED headlamps and a leather wrapped dashboard. Its party piece, however, will be 360 degree surround view camera- a first in segment feature.
The Kicks will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, and Renault Captur as well the production version of the Kia SP2i SUV. We expect that Nissan will price the Kicks in the range of Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 15 lakhs.
