The Nissan Kicks has been unveiled through a series of pictures snapped in Brazil before its official debut. The compact SUV will be officially presented on May 2.
The Kicks was first revealed at the 2014 Sao Paulo Motor Show and this production version retains most of the traits from the concept. The external appearance shows off its butch stance and aggressive styling, while we also expect it to gain features like the other Nissan siblings. The concept measured 4,300mm long, 1,800mm wide and 1,600mm tall. It had a long wheelbase of 2,620mm and if it is the same for this final version, it should make the cabin quite spacious.
Nissan is still tight-lipped about the interior and engine specifications of the Kicks. The crossover is based on Nissan's V-Platform that currently supports the Sunny sedan and Micra hatchback as well. Knowing about the Renault-Nissan alliance, an informed guess should tell us that the Indian-spec Kicks might be powered by the 1.5-litre K9K diesel mill seen under the hood of the Renault Duster.
The new Nissan Kicks will be launched in Brazil in a couple of months after its official premiere at the start of the next month. It will be sold in South American markets initially, where small crossovers with good looks and high ground clearance have a good demand. Since this demand has increased in India as well, Nissan India might consider introducing it to our country as well.
