The Interim Union Budget announced a few days ago had provision on reduction of excise duty levied on cars. While, everyone was pondering over how much benefit was to be passed on to the customer, Nissan India has announced that it will pass on all the benefits to the customer.
Announcing the new prices, Mr. Kenichiro Yomura, President, Nissan India Operations said, “The reduction in excise duty is a welcome move towards revival of the Indian automobile industry. We at Nissan are happy to pass 100 per cent of the tax benefits to our customers. We are confident this will make our products more accessible and drive growth across the range.”
The prices of Nissan cars have come down by 4-6 per cent and will be applied according to the vehicle classification. The price change revisions will apply to Micra Active, Micra, Sunny, Evalia, Terrano and the Teana. The new prices will be effective from February 18, 2014.
This is a great decision by Nissan India and we appreciate this move by the Japanese car maker.
