Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL) announced that it registered a total sales figure of 1005 numbers for the month of July 2010. Out of the 1005, the sales of the newly launched Nissan Micra were 928 units in July 2010. The sales for the Nissan Micra commence don the 15th of July. Out of the remaining, 27 units of the Nissan Teana were and sales figures for the Nissan X-trail was 50 units.
The Nissan Micra, which was opened for bookings prior to its launch, has till date received more than 3000 bookings. Kiminobu Tokuyama -MD & CEO, NMIPL said, "This is just the beginning. However, we are happy and delighted at the initial response the Nissan Micra has received from the Indian customers. We look forward to an exciting journey as more and more customers benefit from the ownership experience of our product and services."
The market response to Nissan Micra has been very promising and encouraging and Nissan expects the number to increase in the coming months as they plan to ramp-up of its dealer network. There are 20 operational dealers across the country and with the kind of bookings Nissan Micra has registered, its only time when Nissan expand and capture the small car segment market.
