Nissan India has announced that it will hike the price of the Micra hatchback, Sunny sedan and Evalia MPV in the range of 1.5 per cent to 2.5 per cent with immediate effect. It has attributed the hike to rising input costs. Prices for the Micra will go up by 1.5 per cent, Sunny by two per cent and the Evalia by 2.5 per cent.
Commenting on the hike, Nitish Tipnis, director – sales & marketing, Hover Automotive India (Nissan Motor India’s national sales company) said, “The price rise, which we have held back for several months, is to offset rising input costs and also ease the impact of currency fluctuation. Although we have to make this adjustment, our cars continue to represent outstanding value for our customers within the Indian market.”
