Nissan India has announced that their overall sales have increased by 24.2 per cent in FY 2014. The company sold 47,474 units in the last financial year as compared to 38,220 units in FY 2013.
As per its latest sales report, Nissan had the best sales ever since it began its operations in India. It claims to be amongst the top three gainers in terms of growth rate. However, the company hasn’t disclosed the model-wise sales figures. But we can expect the Micra and the Terrano from the Nissan brand to perform well. In case of Datsun, the GO and the GO+ sales have not been up to the mark, but the company is working on it.
“We are pleased with the progress we demonstrated in our 10th year in India. FY 14 has been a significant year when we re-established our India business with an independent sales and marketing organisation. The growth we achieved was supported by the launch of 2 new models and fastest growing network. As we set ourselves a target of 5 per cent market share by FY20, we are focused on sustaining and accelerating our performance,” said Guillaume Sicard, president, Nissan India.
