Nissan India is setting up for a cracker of a Diwali with plans to launch the GT-R. The iconic sports car will be available through select Nissan dealerships in India, which will also be prepared to provide technical support.
The Nissan GT-R is known for its combination everyday usability and insane performance. Powered by the twin-turbo 3.8-litre V6 engine developing 560bhp and 463Nm, the car can get to 100kph from standstill under three seconds with electronically managed launch control and all-wheel-drive. The GT-R can do over 310kmph, putting few of the more premium models from Porsche and Lamborghini to shame. It still holds the record for being the fifth fastest car at the Nurburgring with the time of seven minutes eight seconds.
The Japanese carmaker will import the car to India as CBU and will retail it through select showrooms in the metro cities, where the staff will also be trained to provide service assistance. The GT-R will be launched towards the end of October or early November, coinciding with the festivities around Diwali.
The car will carry a price tag of around Rs 2 crore to take on the likes of the Audi R8, Ferrari California and Porsche 911 Carrera.
