The Nissan Evalia MPV has been chosen by the Red Bull Racing F1 team as its official steed during the Indian Grand Prix. Through its partnership with Renault, Nissan will provide 10 Evalia MPVs to the team for transporting crew and equipment.
To assist with Red Bull Racing’s transportation needs during the 2012 F1 season, Nissan has been supplying a fleet of more than 30 vehicles and related services. Nissan support vehicles have been based at the team’s Milton Keynes headquarters and used for all European events.
Outside the European mainland, Nissan has also provided the NV200 and Civilian for the Chinese Grand Prix, the NV3500 for the Canadian Grand Prix and NV350 for the Japanese Grand Prix in the same capacity to Red Bull Racing.
Commenting on the move, Christian Horner, team principal Red Bull Racing said “Within such a high- pressure and challenging environment as Formula One, we need reliable partners taking care of all our versatile transportation needs all over the world. Extensive travel is part and parcel of Formula One, and the transportation of our material and staff are an essential part of our successful operations. We are very reassured that the Evalia will be supporting our race operations at this year’s India Grand Prix.”
Nissan is one of the main sponsors of the Red Bull Racing team via its Infiniti brand. It also has deeper ties with Renault, whose engines power the Red Bull cars, via the Renault-Nissan alliance. It has even launched a sporty Infiniti FX crossover called the Sebastian Vettel edition.
