Nissan India has opened bookings for the Evalia just a few days before its national launch in Mumbai on September 26. Customers can walk into any official dealership and book the MUV by paying an advance amount of Rs 50,000. The entire amount is refundable after the launch, if the customer withdraws the booking.
The Evalia will compete with the Toyota Innova and the Mahindra Xylo on size and space is powered by Nissan’s 1461cc K9K engine, which produces 85bhp and 200nm of torque. The car is expected to give an ARAI certified 19kmpl that is a lot higher than the other vehicles of its size. The Evalia looks more like van that a passenger vehicle and Nissan will have to price it very competitively to make it make lucrative. We expect the price to be between Rs 8 lak to Rs 10 lakh.
