Nismo to Nissan is what AMG is to Mercedes or Abarth is to Fiat. And Nissan's performance arm has some really interesting vehicles to offer in Nismo Juke and Nismo 370Z. But surprisingly there is no GT-R on offer, unless we are talking about the USD 3,80,000 GT3 spec version. Thankfully that will change in less than a year with Nissan’s latest announcement.
Nissan CEO, Carlos Ghosn, confirmed the news at the opening of the company’s new headquarters in Yokohama, Japan. No further details or pictures are available at this moment, but Ghosn announced that the car will be on sale within next year.
Addressing the numerous queries on the announcement, the NISMO President Shoichi Miyatani said, "We know that enthusiasts around the world will be itching to know more about the forthcoming GT-R NISMO. It's too early to share any details yet, but fans can be certain we'll be applying all of our motorsport expertise to creating a GT-R NISMO worthy of the name".
