Nissan India has managed to achieve domestic sales of 4,807 units in the month of February. This is 24 per cent more compared to the same time last year, when it sold 3,850 units in February 2016. These domestic sale figures are a combined count of Nissan and Datsun vehicles in India owing to the great demand garnered by the Datsun Redi-GO hatchback.
When compared to January 2017, the sales are up by 34 per cent as Nissan managed to sell 4,346 units in the previous month. The Datsun Redi-GO has been the leading contributor to the sales averaging around 2,500 units every month.
Apart from the domestic sales, Nissan India has achieved a new milestone in the country. The Japanese manufacturer has exported a total 7,00,000 vehicles internationally which were manufactured in India. This accomplishment was attained in the span of seven years since the company began to exports of the vehicles built at their Chennai facility. The vehicles have been exported to 106 countries all around the globe. The Micra hatchback has been the most exported model from India.
Nissan India also exports over 2,500 different type of parts to their 25 facilities situated in 18 international countries. The vehicles are exported from the Kamarajar Port in Chennai to countries in Europe, Middle East, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Africa. The Datsun Go Plus has been exported to South Africa since July 2016. Whereas the Redi-GO marked the re-entry of Datsun brand in Sri Lanka after 60 years in August last year.
