Audi has announced that it will unveil nine new models at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The range includes the SQ7, Q7 e-tron, A4 all-road quattro, R8 V10 Spyder, TT RS Coupe, Q2 crossover and three body styles of the facelifted A3.
First the newest model of the lot which is the Q2. It will be the new entry-level crossover from Ingolstadt and will slot in below the existing Q3 in Audi’s range. It will be offered with six engines in the range of 1.0-litre to 1.4-litre for the petrol and 1.6-litre to 2.0-litre units for the diesel engined models. In terms of exterior and interior design, the car echoes much of the latest Q3.
Last year Audi unveiled the second generation R8 supercar and now it will showcase the second generation Spyder variant at the show. This uses the same 560bhp V10 engine but will be slightly heavier to compensate for the open nature of the car. Also in the coupe category will be the new TT RS coupe which comes with a slightly bolder design and whopping 400bhp output which gives it a 0-100kmph time of 3.7 seconds.
Two new models of the Q7 - the SQ7 and the Q7 e-tron will make their official UK debut. They will be joined by the A4 all-road quattro which like its elder sibling, the A6 all-road, is a beefed up version of the sedan.
The facelifted A3 sedan debuted last month and now at Goodwood Audi will debut the latest cabriolet, Sportback and sedan body styles. It is expected to come to India sometime next year and might just also be offered in the Sportback body style. Adding to the mix will be the new S5 coupe as well as some racing spec Audis like the S1 Quattro, Audi DTM car as well as the very famous Auto Union Type C.
Of this lot we in India are confirmed for the SQ7, TT RS, R8 V10 Spyder, Q2 as well as the S5 coupe. These vehicles are expected to be launched over the next one year in the country.
