-11th generation Nissan Sunny/Versa
-New generation Nissan styling
The 11th generation Nissan Sunny has been unveiled in America. It’s new generation for Nissan’s entry-level sedan in America and it will officially go on sale later there later this year as the Versa.
In terms of styling, the Sunny/Versa has taken its cues from the likes of the much larger Altima but has retained the bulbous silhouette of the current generation car. The car’s identity is primarily the signature massive Nissan grille as well the sleek wrap around tail lamps that give the car a sporty look.
Inside, the interiors have been sourced in their entirety from the Kicks SUV with the biggest change being that the Sunny/Versa gets a black cabin compared to the Kicks’ brown layout. It gets the same levels of equipment in terms of standard features but with a massive step up (over the previous generation) in terms of safety features. This list includes auto emergency braking, lane departure, blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control.
The American market will only get the option of a 1.6-litre petrol that now produces 122bhp/154Nm and can be had with a five-speed manual/CVT. We expect that markets like India will also get the option of a 1.5-litre diesel. In the Kicks, this engine produces 109bhp/240Nm and mated to a six-speed manual. Whenever this Sunny is brought to India, it will take on the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the Honda City.
