-Third generation CLS
-Expected to be offered only in the C 300d trim
-2.0-litre diesel producing 241bhp/500Nm
-9-Speed AT
Mercedes-Benz will launch the 2018 CLS in India tomorrow. It’s the third generation for one of the original four-door coupes and will be offered in one fully loaded C300d trim for the Indian market. It is expected to be offered in multiple colours and styling packages-including at least one AMG trim at the time of the launch.
The C300d moniker means it gets a 2.0-litre turbo diesel producing 245bhp/500Nm. This is a Euro-6 compliant mill and is offered with a nine-speed AT or as Mercedes calls it 9G-Tronic. It channels power and torque to the rear wheels.
Standard features are expected to include LED head lamps and tail lamps, dual digital displays, leather upholstery, aluminium pedals and of course, that signature sloped roofline that gives the CLS its four-door coupe look.
We expect that Mercedes-Benz will price the CLS in India at around Rs 80 lakhs. It will be offered here as a CBU. Â
