We may be stating the obvious but here goes anyway. The second generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will be produced in India. It’s been confirmed in Suzuki financial report for 2017 which also states that the Ertiga will be assembled and exported to two other countries.
This second generation Ertiga was unveiled in Indonesia in April and is the first major update for the MPV since the car was launched in 2012. This second generation car now moves to the HearTect platform and is being offered with a new 1.5-litre petrol engine. This is a new four-cylinder unit producing 104bhp/138Nm with power going to the front wheels via a five-speed manual.
We’ve spoken in detail about the changes and updates for this second generation Ertiga and you can read about that here.
The car is expected to be produced at Suzuki Gurugram plant and will also be offered with diesel power which, in this case, is the 1.3-litre four-cylinder diesel unit currently on offer across the Maruti range. In the current Ertiga it produces 90bhp/190Nm and is mated to a five-speed manual.
