Interior spy shots of the upcoming Hyundai Santro have been snapped up during a test run of a test mule near Ooty in Tamil Nadu. The images show that Hyundai’s new entry-level car will get a beige and black setup with the former being the primary colour.
Also visible in the photos are chrome door handles, chrome bezels for the dials and AC vents as well as steering mounted audio controls. What makes this interesting is that much of the cabin looks very similar to that of the pre-facelift Grand i10 that was sold from 2013 to 2017.
The Santro (as it is popularly known right now) will be Hyundai’s new entry-level model. It will be the one model to make the South Korean automaker’s presence be felt in the A-segment and entry-level B-segment.
It’s expected to be showcased in production guise towards the middle of this year and will be offered with petrol power and CNG compatibility. There is also a possibility that this car will debut an AMT that Hyundai is working on.
