-Fifth generation Honda City
-Evolutionary design
Its official! The next generation Honda City will debut in Thailand on November 25. It’s the fifth generation for the Japanese automaker’s sedan and is expected to come to India sometime in 2020 and will be manufactured locally.
The car has been spotted on test in India and even the camouflaged versions reveal that the sedan will take a more rounded styling on the outside as compared to the fourth-generation City which is currently on sale.
Reports suggest that Honda will introduce a mild-hybrid system for the sedan and a wholly revised cabin to ensure the model moves to the next generation. Other markets where the City is sold are likely to get it with 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol. The Indian car market is expected to also get it with a BSVI compliant diesel engine.
When launched, it will continue to rival the likes of the Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, Volkswagen Vento as well as the Skoda Rapid.
