-Seventh generation 3 Series
-New platform
-Evolved design
The seven-generation BMW 3 Series was spotted testing in India ahead of its debut later this year. The car was unveiled at the 2018 Paris Motor Show and is now being offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines with a hybrid as well pure EV option expected to arrive by 2022.
This new generation 3 Series sports an evolutionary design and maintains all the hallmarks of the 3er line-up, but with the latest BMW design elements. It’s a similar story with the cabin too where the design will seem familiar but with the latest BMW features and elements. We have already looked at the design of the new 3 Series in detail and you can read about that here. We expect that BMW will offer this new 3 Series with a range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, all of which will be offered with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
This new generation 3 Series will be assembled at BMW’s India plant outside Chennai. It will rival against the likes of the Jaguar XE, Audi A4, Volvo S60 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. There’s also a crop of SUVs in this price bracket in the form of the Audi Q3, Volvo XC40 and Mercedes-Benz GLC.
