> Lesser camouflage is a dead-giveaway that an official reveal is around the corner
> The white test-car may be an AMG version after all
Early last month we brought to you spy shots of a heavily camouflaged 2019 Mercedes-Benz B-Class being driven on public roads. However, we’ve now discovered a YouTube video which displays two B-Class’ being transported on a trailer with a few new A-Class siblings.
These prototypes have shed their bright camouflage for a smart masking that matches the paint-shades – one car is black and the other is white. Now although the overall silhouette remains similar to the current B-Class, we were able to spot the slightly angled quarter-glass section which undeniably adds some flavour to the appearance. We also noticed the absence of the distinct door creases but we aren’t sure about this one since it could be the thick masking doing its intended job pretty well.
Furthermore, what’s interesting is that the grilles, brakes and alloys on both test mules are different. In comparison, the white prototype with its sportier wheels, larger discs and grille style looks more like an AMG version. Now it makes perfect sense why Merc slapped on those sporty exhaust tips after all.
Sources state that Mercedes-Benz could debut the 2019 B-Class later this year so that it hits roads early next year. More on that in the time to come.
