- Third-generation Hyundai Elite i20 test-mule spotted in India with rear disc brakes
- The model is also expected to receive a segment-first digital instrument cluster
Earlier this week, reports suggested that the new generation Hyundai Elite i20 would receive a fully digital instrument cluster. Now, new images of the model spied testing in India reveal disc brakes on the rear axle.
As seen in the spy photo, the third-generation Hyundai Elite i20 was completely camouflaged although a close look at the side profile reveals the disc brake setup behind the rear wheels. Visual updates for the model are expected to arrive in the form of a new face with the signature cascade design grille, angular headlamps and triangular fog lamp housings.
Inside, the next-gen Hyundai Elite i20 will come equipped with a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument display. A few other features may include automatic climate control, BlueLink connectivity and wireless charging. Also on offer could be a sunroof.
Powertrain options for the 2020 Hyundai Elite i20 could include a BS-VI compliant version of the 1.2-litre petrol motor and a detuned version of the 1.5-litre diesel mill from Kia. A 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine cannot be ruled out either. The latter could be offered with a DCT gearbox. Upon launch, the new Elite i20 will take on the Honda Jazz and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
