Next Mercedes A45 AMG could produce more than 400bhp

The Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG was recently crowned the most powerful hot hatch with the launch of the updated 375bhp model; however, an even more powerful version could be on the way. According to a recent report by Auto Express, the next-generation A45 AMG could get a 400bhp-plus engine. 

Speaking to Auto Express, Mercedes-AMG CEO Tobias Moers has reportedly confirmed that the next-generation model of the A45 AMG will have an all-new, four-cylinder engine developing more than 400bhp.

The 375bhp A45 AMG is the result of the mega horsepower race that has brewed in the last couple of years. With the high power Volkswagen Golf R 400 currently under development, it will be interesting to see how other European manufacturers react to stay competitive in the race.
