The next generation Skoda Yeti has been spotted testing in Europe ahead of its official debut later this year. Now entering its second generation, the Czech automaker’s entry-level SUV will pick up many of its design cues from the Kodiaq and Seat Ateca but have all the design traits to be called a Skoda.
As we had seen with the car that was spotted testing in China, the Yeti will move from a boxy outline to a crossover shape more in tune with the automaker’s current design philosophy. It is expected to sport signature elements like the grille, head lamps and the tail lamps. We believe that it will be offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines as well as both AT/MT options.
The first generation Yeti fizzled out after gaining initial popularity in the Indian market. Now with the demand for compact SUVs/crossovers growing in India, this seems like a good time for Skoda to bring this new Yeti here once it launched. If it does come to India, expect it in mid-2018 with local assembly.
