The next generation Porsche Panamera will be revealed in Berlin on June 28. Shown in an official teaser image, this new Panamera will be the second generation for the German automaker’s four door sedan and will be offered with a variety of petrol and diesel engines.
The image shows a tail lamp cluster for the Panamera similar to that of the latest generation 911 range of cars. This new Panamera is expected to be based on the same platform that will underpin the next generation Audi A8 and Bentley Continental. This will allow it to benefit from weight saving materials and gain additional body strength.
We already know what the car looks like thanks to spy images that have revealed most of the exterior design, save for the badges. In true Porsche fashion, this will be an evolutionary design which will bring the Panemera up-to-date with its parent company’s latest styling and technological philosophies. One of the major changes that we can expect with this car is that Porsche will ditch a large number of buttons in the cabin in favour of a centre console layout seen on the 918 hypercar.
It is expected to be offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines including a hybrid option across both fuel ranges. Looking (far) ahead, we can expect this new Panamera to arrive in India by the middle of next year.
