- The model will be offered with two new engine options
Hyundai unveiled the second generation ix25 at the Shanghai Motor show earlier this year. The model will come to India as the next-generation Creta. Now, the engine specifications and dimensions of the new generation Hyundai Creta (also known as the ix25) have been revealed. The upcoming version of the Creta will be larger than its predecessor and will be powered by two new engine options.
Dimension wise, the next-gen Hyundai Creta will reportedly measure 4,300mm in length, 1,790mm in width and 1,622mm in height while the wheelbase stands at 2,610mm. Compared to the previous generation model, the 2020 Creta will be 30mm longer, 10mm wider and 8mm shorter while the wheelbase will be increased by 20mm.
Powertrain options for the upcoming generation Hyundai Creta are expected to include a 1.5-litre petrol motor, 1.5-litre diesel motor and a 1.4-litre, turbo-petrol motor shared with the Kia Seltos. Inside, the model will come equipped with a virtual cockpit, similar to the Audi units. A few other features that could be added include BlueLink connectivity, Heads-Up Display (HUD), 360-degree camera and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).Â
The next-generation Hyundai Creta, which has already begun testing in India, is likely to make its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo followed by its launch later that year. The model is expected to be introduced with a price tag in the range of Rs 10-16 lakhs and will rival against the likes of the Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier and the Renault Duster.
