The next generation Hyundai i20 has been spotted testing again but this time in Delhi quite far away from Hyundai’s factory in Chennai, indicating that the company wants the car to be prepared for all kinds of weather conditions when it is launched. While the test mules have been spotted on multiple occasions, these latest pictures reveal that the car will be offered on the higher-spec variants with LED tail lamps and disc brakes.
The presence of both these components also means that the difference between the European spec car and the one sold in India will be quite minor. The 2014 Hyundai i20 is expected to make its global debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show but may be previewed on the interweb ahead of the official debut. It is also possible that Hyundai may show the car in India ahead of its European debut as it is one of the markets where the i20 does good volumes for the South Korean manufacturer.
To recap, the next generation Hyundai i20 will share much with the Grand i10 and this includes the overall design and one of the petrol engine options. It is expected to introduce new features to the segment as has been the case in the past.
The car has been spotted testing in India and Europe on multiple occasions and is their B+ segment competitor where it rivals the VW Polo and the Fiat Punto. Maruti Suzuki in the next two years will also launch a premium hatchback to rival the i20.
