Honda’s upcoming CR-V which is slated to be the fifth generation of the car, has been caught testing in China. This is an important market for Honda’s mid-sized family SUV, and could be launched there in mid-2017.
Some of the design traits we picked up from this camouflaged test mule is a characteristic Honda grille that splits the two LED head lights, a sunroof, sporty design of the bonnet, a new design for the tail lamps and twin exhausts finished in chrome. In fact, one should easily be able to spot the obvious design similarities with the Honda Civic.
Power for this generation of the CR-V could be sourced from the 1.5-litre VTEC, 2.0-litre VTEC, or the 1.6-litre i-DTEC mill for the European market. While sources report that the new CR-V could debut in the international market early next year, Honda India could bring the new version to Indian shores before the festival season in 2017.
We shall share more information on the new CR-V in the days to come.
