The facelifted Amaze compact sedan didn’t really excite the Indian market. And now with the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire around, the sales of this Honda is bound to decline. However, the Japanese manufacturer is readying the next generation Amaze which might be unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo.
According to a report, the development of the new Amaze is almost complete. The R&D activities for this car is taking place in the company’s Thailand facility with input from the Indian counterparts. While the details of this upcoming car isn’t known yet, there’s a good chance that the new Amaze might see new design and styling, along with a host of mechanical changes.
The new Amaze will be available in both, petrol and diesel variants. The automatic versions are in the pipeline too. However, the Japanese top honchos are looking very closely at the sales of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire AMTs to take a final call on the launch versions. The company is expected to equip the new Amaze with a host of new features as the market has been very demanding in that area.
While the global unveil might happen at the biennial event in Noida next year, the official launch is expected to take place in the latter half of 2018.
