The variants, specifications and feature list of the soon-to-be-launched Ford Endeavour SUV have been officially revealed by the automaker on its website. The flagship vehicle from the American automaker will be offered with two engine options and in seven variants across two transmission options.
Firstly, this new generation Endeavour follows in the footsteps of its predecessor and is based on the Ranger Pickup Truck. It will be offered with two diesel engines – a new 2.2-litre four-cylinder engine producing 158bhp and 385Nm as well as a 3.2-litre four-cylinder mill that produces 198bhp and a massive 470Nm of torque. Both engines can be had with a six-speed AT while the 2.2-litre unit also gets a six-speed manual. The two variants are Trend and Titanium and include 4X2 and 4X4 across both engines.
On the safety front, the new Endeavour, across all variants, gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, traction control, hill hold function and seat belt pre-tensioners. The top-spec Titanium 3.2-litre 4X4 AT gets six additional airbags; a first in segment feature. In terms of colours, the new Endeavour will be offered in shades of red, bronze, white, silver, black and grey.
Ford has confirmed that it will launch the Endeavour next month ahead of the 2016 Auto Expo. When launched, it will compete with the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Toyota Fortuner and the Chevrolet Trailblazer.
