The Fiat Punto Evo is a fairly new product here in India although globally the hatchback is in the end stages of its lifecycle. As expected, Fiat has started work on a replacement model with reports claiming of an all-new premium hatchback being developed to replace the Punto.
According to a report by AutosSegredos, Fiat is running a project codenamed ‘X6H’, the end result of which will replace the Punto. The report goes on to say that early prototypes of the project will be put into action in a few weeks’ time.
This new premium hatchback will be based on an all-new platform and is expected to benefit from technologies seen in the current 500 range of models including the 500L and the 500X. Given Fiat India’s product strategy of the past, it is expected that India-bound models will feature a lot of changes in the specifications before hitting the showrooms.
