The next-generation Chevrolet Sail sedan has been spotted on test in Europe. This will be sold as the next generation Opel/Vauxhall Corsa sedan in the main continent while it will get the Chevrolet badging in China and other markets where it is sold.
The pictures reveal that the car will retain the same silhouette as the current model but will get longer, lower and possibly wider. We can also see that there will be a new face as well as rear end.
It is expected to get a revised interior as well an updated feature list to bring the car up-to-date with Chevrolet’s design philosophy. The Chinese market will get this sedan alongside the hatchback in a variety of four-cylinder petrol engines in the range of 1.2-litre to 1.5-litre. Expect both manual and automatic options.
Given that GM has made its intentions clear to venture into higher segments it seems that in the current scenario this car will not be made available for India. However, with a debut date set for some time in 2018, the company’s fortunes may change and it would gain footing to venture back into the C-segment where this car will arrive if it is launched here.
