The fourth generation BMW X5 will be launched in India on 16 May. Unveiled in 2018, this new BMW X5 sports an evolved design but is underpinned by the latest BMW CLAR platform. It is expected to offered here with both petrol and diesel power.
In terms of exterior design, the silhouette looks like an evolution of the third generation model but now with the latest BMW design elements. This list includes the latest version of the signature kidney grille, the design of the alloy wheels across all variants and of course the design of the tail lamps. Inside, apart from the segment standard features, BMW is expected to offer its latest infotainment system, leather and wood upholstery as well as their Live Cockpit Professional digital instrument cluster.
Also expect the M styling package to be offered at the time of the launch.Â
BMW is expected to offer this fourth generation X5 for the Indian car market with possibly two diesel engine options and one petrol engine. The former is expected to comprise the 20d and 30d engine options while the petrol will likely be a 40i badged model. All variants will get xDrive and a eight-speed AT as standard.
This new BMW X5 takes on the likes of the Audi Q7, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Volvo XC90 and the Jaguar F-Pace. We expect BMW to price the X5 in the range of Rs 65 lakhs to Rs 85 lakhs. Â
