The next-generation Audi A5 has been spotted undergoing trials in Europe. Expected to be showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, this second-generation sedan will go on sale internationally by the end of next year, as a 2017 model.
The next-generation A5 will be built around the MLB Evo platform, which also underpins other Audi sedans like the A4 and the A6. It will be styled along the lines of the rest of the Audi range, with a wide single grille flanked by narrow headlamps. Though the overall shape seems to be similar to the current A5, we can expect the next-generation model to get a lot more ‘bling’, thanks to the new front fascia and the sharper lines.
Apart from the current crop of petrol and diesel powertrains, the new A5 will also get the highly-efficient 2.0-litre TFSI, which was unveiled at the Vienna Motor Symposium. The A5 competes with other four-door coupes like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe and the BMW 4 Series.
