The forthcoming B9 generation Audi A4 is set to come out later this year, but before the official reveal, the luxury sedan has been spied on test yet again, giving us a rough idea of what it will look like. The prototype caught this time appears to be wearing less camouflage than before and shows the shaper design of the headlights.
The new A4 is expected to feature an evolutionary look with sharper lines. It is also likely to be noticeably bigger in comparison to the current model. What this means is that Audi really is working on differentiating the vehicle from the smaller A3 sedan which bears a similar design. We expect the B9 model to have a decently longer wheelbase than the current A4.
Going by previous reports, the new A4 will make use of the MLB Evo platform which should help in weight saving of about 100kg over the existing model. Besides the regular turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, Audi could also introduce a plug-in hybrid variant powered by a 211bhp, 2-litre TFSI engine paired with a 95bhp electric motor.
The new A4 will be showcased later this year. Until then, Audi will have to continue with the B8 A4 which faces stiff competition here in the Indian market in the form of the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes C-Class.
